He holds a BA in Film from the Camilo José Cela University (with an honourable mention in cinematography) and an MA in Cinematography from the University of Cordoba. He is currently working on his doctoral thesis, a study on film editing in the filmography of director Terrence Malick. He has previously conducted research on the director in relation to the evolution of the voice off and symbolic nature. As a filmmaker he has directed short drama films and documentaries, including: Sakura (2015), Eterno (2017) and La guitarra (2018). His latest short film, Martxoaren 28a (2022), which was subsidised by the Getxo Arts Centre and made in collaboration with Tabakalera, has just begun distribution at festivals.
