Lucía Alonso Santos was born in Granada in 1998. She studied film at the Catalonia Advanced Film and Audiovisual School (ESCAC), specialising in Photographic Direction. Her interest focuses on the craft of filmmaking and the creation of new languages and aesthetics that push her to develop her work in the field of photography, video clips, non-fiction and video essay, attracted by the idea of experimenting with film, digital and light-based formats. Her video essay ‘In Memoriam’ was selected at Filmadrid (2020) and was distributed by MUBI. Her work focuses on the relationship between identity and space, expressed most eloquently in Quién vio los templos caer, a film that was one of the graduation projects selected by Escac Films. The work was the finishing touch to Alonso Santos’ academic career, which she finished independently, turning it into her first feature film. She is currently combining the film’s post-production with the development of her next project, which is still in the research phase.
