Born in Santiago de Chile in 1992, Flavia Contreras has a degree in Visual Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, minoring in Film Aesthetics and Theory. She is a member of the Art&Crap artistic group and her works have been exhibited in museums and cultural centres since 2014. At the same time, she has developed a parallel career in the audiovisual world, making music videos, videoart, documentaries and hybrid works. Her research focuses on how biographic fables and film narratives can affect the construction of the official records of history, thereby opening up space for questions about the re-writing of history, political resistance and the imagination of possible pasts that may lead to new futures.
