During his training at the Lisbon Theater and Film School, Mário Veloso directed his first short films - Rio Torto (2019) and Ours is the Wasteland (2021) - both screened and awarded at the Verdes Anos section of Doclisboa. In his early years of career, he has worked extensively as an assistant director on national and international productions; notable is his collaboration on the film The Kegelstatt Trio directed by Rita Azevedo Gomes. He has just completed his first fiction short film - Summer Rains - scheduled for release in 2024.
