Catarina Vasconcelos is a Portuguese filmmaker born in Lisbon in 1986. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and continued her postgraduate studies in London where she obtained an MA in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art. Her graduation project and first short film, Metáfora ou a tristeza virada do avesso, won the award for Best International Short Film at the Cinema du Réel Festival and participated in numerous international festivals. His first feature film, A Metamorfose dos Pássaros (2020), closed the New Encounters section at the Berlinale and won several awards. He is currently preparing his first feature-length fiction film, Unfinished Painting.
