FMP was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1968. He is a film historian, archivist and teacher. He graduated from the Centro Experimental de Realización Cinematográfica (CERC, now ENERC) in 1992. He has been in charge of the film department of the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (Malba) since 2002. He teaches at the University of Buenos Aires and the National University of La Plata. He has published several books on his speciality, such as El cine quema: Jorge Cedrón, Cien años de cine argentino, Metrópolis, Cine maldito, Diario de la Filmoteca and Cine argentino: Hechos, gente, películas.
