Mariana Sánchez Bueno was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and earned her undergraduate degree in Film and Electronic Arts from Bard College. Thanks to her interest in contemporary experimental film and the use of experimental techniques in her own projects, she has worked and collaborated with institutions such as UnionDocs, Cinema Tropical, BAM, Electronic Arts Intermix and the Hudson Valley LGBTI Centre. Her interests range from editing and directing to educational archive creation and experimental film programming. In 2019, Mariana co-curated Ellipsis, a series which sought to connect different cinematographic works through aesthetic and literary languages outside the Western canon. Ellipsis was first screened in May this year at Spectacle Theatre, Centre for Performance Research and Light Industry in New York.
