Lester Meno graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana in 2011. Since then he has completed a number of projects and has organised and produced events in a range of different media, based on the principle of collaborating with vulnerable people and spaces in his native country. He is the founder of the independent publishing house La Maleza. Alongside the Cuban curator Abel González Fernández, in 2019-2020 he is developing a video series entitled SIN349 which focuses on the youth art and culture movement that fought against the enactment of a decree to regulate free speech in Cuba. The project was awarded the Next Generation grant by the Prince Claus Fund in 2019.
