Noemi Cuetos was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz and has a degree in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Navarre, with a specialist diploma in Cultural Communication. Since 2007 she has worked at the communication and press departments of various different international film festivals, including Punto de Vista, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Doha Tribeca Film Festival and the London Spanish Film Festival. For seven years she coordinated Documental Ambulante, A.C., a Mexican organisation that seeks to promote documentaries as a tool for change, running a travelling film festival, offering training courses to rural and indigenous communities and distributing films with advocacy campaigns. She has attended workshops on cinematographic programming, audiovisual curating and contemporary artistic practices, and effective distribution in the non-fiction field. She has also taught distribution and cinematographic promotion at the Universidad de la Comunicación in Mexico City.
