Laida Mendia graduated with honours in Art History from the Public University of the Basque Country and also has a Master's degree in History of Contemporary Art and Visual Culture from the Autonomous and Complutense Universities of Madrid, in collaboration with the Reina Sofía Museum. She is particularly interested in audiovisual arts, principally film. In 2019, she published and curated the collective project 'ACTA 4: Rutas disidentes, resistencias comunes' and the exhibition held in Room D of the Reina Sofía Museum entitled 'Resistencias Lúdico-Políticas en el Madrid de los 90'.
