Mariana Queen Nwabasili is a Brazilian journalist and researcher. She graduated in Journalism from the Communications and Arts School at the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP) and has a Master’s in Media and Audiovisual Processes, also from the Communications and Arts School of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP). Her interests within the field of communication and cinema/arts research are: representation, ‘reality’ and ‘real’, translation, identity, speech, reception, blaxploitation, black woman, black bodies and black characters in cinema. Sometimes, she also expands this research perspective to analyse theatre, performance, dance and television. In 2019, she taught the course ‘Racial, Social and Gender Representations and Identities in Audiovisual’ at the Sesc Research and Training Center. As a journalist, she has experience in several roles, including reporter, copywriter, assistant editor and editor, always focusing on education-related issues.
