Oderay Ponce de León graduated in Cultural Historic Heritage Management and Conservation from the University of Havana. She formed part of the organising committee of the 13th and 14th Imago ISA Arts Festivals (2012 and 2013), and as a producer and assistant director, sat on the organising committee of the 5th and 6th Puños Arriba Cuban Rap Awards in 2013 and 2014. She is general coordinator of the Cine Campus film debate project at the San Gerónimo University College of Havana and collaborated in the 33rd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, as part of the foreign press corps. She worked as a producer for the Axis Visual Lab in a videomapping exhibition organised for the opening of the 34th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema. She is the founder of the local development project Akokán (2016-2020), an initiative carried out with the community living in the Los Pocitos informal settlement in the La Havana Province, and also set up the creative archaeological project entitled ARKREA 2016-2018. In 2016 and 2017 she worked as a researcher and audiovisual producer in the archaeological project Expedición, carried out in the rural Pata community in the municipality of Maisí in Gantánamo Province. In 2017 and 2018 she worked as a researcher in the Torreón de Jaruco Archaeological Project and has also collaborated as a producer with the San Antonio de los Baños International School of Film and Television (EICTV).
