Manuel Hevia Carballido was born in Xixón, Asturias, in 2002. Ever since he was a boy, he has been deeply interested in artistic creation, performing at the age of eight in the play Teatro Precario (by El Perro Flaco Teatro); participating as a percussionist in the Ventolín Brass Band; and directing short films for local competitions. Between 2018 and 2020, he was the host and editor of the podcast Utopía (film, TV shows and books). In 2019, he served on the international jury of the Giffoni Film Festival, in the Generator +16 section, and one year later, was a youth juror at FICX. From 2020 to 2025, he studied Philosophy at the University of Oviedo, completing an internship with the MUSOC programming team. He is currently a film critic for the blog pezlinterna.
