Lost lessons of Andrei Tarkovsky 1

First conference focused on the listening of unreleased recordings of the Russian filmmaker.

Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola will be resuming its public programme on the 6th of December with "Lost lessons of Andrei Tarkovsky #1", the first session devoted to recovering the film classes given by Andrei Tarkovsky in various places in the Soviet Union between 1975 and 1981.

At the first of the sessions that make up the programme, based on the recordings registrated in the Centre for Advanced Cinematography Studies in the Soviet Union in 1977, we will be focusing especially on his film entitled The Mirror (Zérkalo, 1975). The audience will be able to listen to the filmmaker addressing various aspects of the process of creating that film: the origins of the project, the consequences of it being biographical, his relationship with the actors, the writing of the script…

The event will be rounded off by the screening of L’Argent (1983) one of the best-known films in Robert Bresson’s career.

10:30 - 10:45 Introduction: Carlos Muguiro (director of EQZE), Andrei Andreievich Tarkovsky (president of the Andrei Tarkovsky International Institute) and José Manuel Mouriño (essayist, filmmaker and representative of the Tarkovsky Institute in Spain).

10:45 - 11:15 “The empty place where the farmhouse once stood: walking through The Mirror's dacha”. Ruxandra Kyriazopoulos-Berinde (architect).

11:15 - 12:15 Listening to the first part of the sound recordings (with Andréi Andreievich Tarkovski and José Manuel Mouriño).

12:25 - 13:30 Listening to the second part of the sound recordings (with Ángel Gutiérrez -director of the Chekov Theatre-).
