Alfonso del Amo García worked at Filmoteca Española between 1977 and 2013, where he was head of the Research Section, responsible for restoration projects and preservation studies. He was also a member of the Gamma Group of European archives and laboratories, head of the F.I.A.F. technical preservation committee, and responsible for designing the Film Archive's Conservation and Restoration Center.
