Born in Mexico City in 1992, Sofía holds a BA in Art History from the Universidad Iberoamericana, specialising in cultural studies, cinema and archiving. She works for the Permanencia Voluntaria Film Archive in areas of cultural management and the management of documentary and film heritage. She has continued her education with academic sojourns at the UNAM Film Library (March, 2019) and at Indiana University as part of the Biennial Audiovisual Archival Summer School (May, 2019). She is currently working to design and manage an academic programme for training new audiovisual archivists in Mexico.
