Architect by training, filmmaker by vocation. While passionate about architecture, Jesús Hector Martínez has always had a predilection also for visual arts, which is why, after completing his architecture degree and living on three different continents in cities such as Monterrey, Lisbon and Shanghai, he decided the time had come to return home to develop his great passion: film. He has run LACØRTE films since 2016, directing works such as the documentary 'Athanatos' (2018) for the Tenerife Island Council and the fictional short 'El nuevo vecino' (2018) starring Itziar Aizpuru, which won the Etxean Shortuak prize at the San Sebastián Short Film Festival. His latest film projects include the short 'Ojo por ojo' (2019), starring Amaia Lizarralde, which has been selected by several international festivals.
