Evelyn Ruiz Gómez (2024-2025)

Filmmaker and audiovisual manager focused on working with video and editing possibilities.

Through video she explores the relationships between words, personal history and the language of nature to articulate and question the interplay between the internal and external. Video as ritual. Her audiovisual pieces have found a space in online film and video exhibitions such as ‘Dulcísimo Ovario’ (Mexican Women’s Film and Video Festival), ‘Luz Viajera Colectivo, Videotitlán’ (Latin American Video meeting) and in the FlussLab interdisciplinary residency programme.

She is currently working on the audiovisual production of teaching support materials at the UNAM, where she took a new path as an accidental archivist, starting with the audiovisual archive of the Faculty of Psychology.

She is involved in the ‘Área Visual Laboratorio’ project, where they periodically publish calls and publications related to the sound and audiovisual works of Latin American artists with the aim of independently disseminating and establishing a dialogue on their experimental work, as well as to foster links among creators.
