Daniel Alegrete (Madrid, 1993) graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Carlos III University of Madrid and in Art History from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Madrid. In 2017 he moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina to further his studies, taking a Master’s in Film Directing at the Sarajevo Film Academy and later at MasterLAV (Audiovisual Laboratory for Contemporary Creation and Practice). He has been living and working in Bilbao since 2021 and did a residency at the BilbaoArte Foundation where, in 2022, he started working as a film programmer on the project ‘Fuera de campo’. His work moves between experimental and fiction film, with horror being his main thematic focus and through which he seeks to question his own context and intimacy. Some of his works have been screened in places such as Ertibil Bizkaia, DOC Buenos Aires, FILMADRID and PROYECTOR.
