Saro Vallejo is a Swiss-Ecuadorian filmmaker who currently lives and works in Geneva. Born in 1995, he grew up in Horgen, Zurich, and moved to Quito at the age of 17. He discovered his interest in film during his three-year stay in Ecuador.
On his return to Switzerland he started working as a production assistant with an advertising production company. Later, he gained experience as a freelancer in various film positions. In 2020 he started studying Film at HEAD – Genève. In 2023 he received his bachelor’s degree and was praised by the jury for his film Amores hallarás.
The short films he made during his studies were screened at various international festivals. His short film Good Vibes is all I Need premiered in the Swiss competition of the Winterthur International Short Film Festival and received a special mention.
