Douglas Henrique is a filmmaker, curator and archivist. He studied Film and Audiovisuals at UFPE and is a member of the Film Curating Committee at that same institution. He is director and curator of Festival MOV, del Jorra!, Festival de Cine Negro and Fresta - Festival de Cine Analógico. He has been the photographic director of several acclaimed short films and edited the short film Emocionado, with which he won the prize for Best Edit at the 28th Cine-PE. In the field of film preservation, he collaborated with CineLimite and the ABPA to restore and digitise over 40 films from the Super 8 Recife movement, made by acclaimed directors from Pernambuco such as Katia Mesel, Amin Stepple and Fernando Spencer. He was selected for the Berlinale Talents Rio 2024, in the Audience Design category, and for the Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires 2025, in the Film Preservation category.
