Thomas Woodroffe works primarily as a director, screenwriter, cinematographer and image post-producer.
He directed and wrote the short film Fiebre austral, which not only had its world première at La Biennale di Venezia 76, but also won a special mention in the NEST competition at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and was chosen for the official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2019.
He was director of photography for El verano del león eléctrico, a short film that won first prize at the Cinéfondation section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Panavisión Award in the NEST competition at the 2018 San Sebastián International Film Festival.
Thomas has participated in numerous residencies and labs, including the Locarno Filmmakers Academy 2022, the Pop Up Film Residency 2022, AustraLab 2022, the ARCA Residency 2022 and La Fabrique Cinéma 2023.
For the past five years he has focused on researching and developing his first feature film, Bloques Erráticos, which was shot during 2024 and is expected to be released in the first half of 2026.
Thomas has collaborated in creative roles with multiple artists and directors, including Patricia Domínguez, Valeria Sarmiento, Constanza Alarcón Tennen, Valeria Hofmann, Josefina Buschmann and the MAFI collective.
