Palmira Sabaté is a filmmaker, cultural project coordinator and researcher. She holds a degree in Stage Design from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and is currently pursuing a Master's in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thinking (UPF), focusing her research on the theory of image and representation applied to arthouse cinema. She also trained in Film and Audiovisuals at the Jean Jaurès University in Toulouse, and in Documentary Directing at La Casa del Cine. She has directed several short films. She has worked as a set and lighting designer on various stage projects that premièred at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Teatre Ovidi Montllor, Antic Teatre and Teatreneu de Barcelona.
 She works for the A Bao A Qu association as a coordinator of educational mediation and curatorial projects such as ‘En Residencia creadores en los institutos’ and film programming projects such as ‘Jóvenes Programadores Moving Cinema’, coordinating sessions at the L'Alternativa Festival, the D'A Barcelona Film Festival and Cinemes Girona in Barcelona. She has also coordinated the ‘Filmoteca para las escuelas’ sessions at the Catalonia Film Archives, where she presented and moderated the discussion on Agnès Varda's ‘Los espigadores y la espigadora’. She has collaborated in various film outreach events and moderated the discussion at the Meritxell Colell Retrospective at the u22 Festival in Barcelona. Fascinated by curating, film programming and research, she is particularly interested in exploring narratives of sensoriality and poetic and experimental language in arthouse cinema, issues she focuses on in both her creative work and her research.
