Hypothesis 2025 (Sixth day)

"The Time of Hypotheses" is the event in which the Master's students of the three specialties of Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola —Film Archive Studies, Film Curating Studies and Filmmaking Studies— exhibit the works they have developed throughout the course.  

These proposals, projects (mostly incomplete and ongoing), take diverse forms: plans and actions for the restoration and preservation of audiovisual heritage, research projects, editorial and film programming proposals, exhibitions and installations, films in development, as well as all the works completed throughout the course.

This program approaches cinema from all fields and prefigures dozens of paths, ranging from the academic to the creative, to explore the geography and history of cinema. All the paths of cinema in two weeks.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROJECT

This laboratory explores audiovisual creation as a means of collective memory and imagination. Through personal archives, performative play, and contemplation, it seeks to generate non-linear, affective narratives that blur the boundaries between the intimate, the fictional and the documentary, activating new ways of producing meaning.

Lúnars is a publishing project and a writing laboratory with/about/for/from cinema. It is a collective undertaking in which we experiment with illustrative possibilities in the interval between word and image. Our core question revolves around possible writings for thinking about how an image is received in changing ways.

A stroll through the streets of the past, present and future of film history in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava. This project investigates and brings together pieces of what cinema meant to this city, and the spaces it occupied, occupies and may occupy.

In the heart of Miño, during Holy Week in Braga, Chico's gaze meets that of a naked saint. When the stone comes to life, desire infiltrates the ritual. Between faith and flesh, time is suspended in an encounter that lasts all the way through the night of the procession.

EXHIBITION

Underground and submerged, Cuban amateur cinema is an accumulation of absences. There is no light to illuminate it, so we leave it alone with its shadow, with its form, with its time, with its way.

All presentations, screenings, and other activities will begin at the time indicated in the program. We kindly request maximum punctuality.

Out of respect for the participants, access to the space will not be permitted once a presentation has begun until it has concluded.
