Hypothesis 2024 (First day)

"The Time of Hypotheses" is the event in which the Master's students of the three specialties of Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (Film Archive Studies, Film Curating Studies and Filmmaking Studies) exhibit the works they have developed throughout the course.  

These proposals take different forms: plans and works of restoration and preservation of audiovisual heritage, editorial and film programming proposals, films in development, exhibitions and installations, research projects, and, of course, all the works completed during the course. 

This program approaches cinema from all fields and prefigures dozens of paths, from the academic to the creative, to travel the geography and times of cinema. All the paths of cinema in two weeks.

10:15-10:30 Introduction: Carlos Muguiro (EQZE director) 

10:30-11:45 El paisaje contaminado: la diversidad nace de la precariedad en la preservación de O pequeno exército louco (Luíza Rosado) 

PRESERVATION PROJECT  

The project is a case study of the preservation of the only 16 mm copy of the Brazilian film O pequeno exército louco (1984) by Lúcia Murat and Paulo Adário, which focuses on the Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua.            

*After the presentation, the film will be screened. 

12:15-13:15 La generación del 60 en su paso por el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián. Huellas de la transición hacia la modernidad cinematográfica (Andrea Cecilia Warszatska) 

RESEARCH PROJECT

This work aims to describe the presence of Argentinean cinema at the San Sebastián International Film Festival between 1959 and 1966.            

15:00-15:45 The Spirit Healer is Away for the Weekend (Inês Nunes)

One hot summer, people seek refuge inside a shopping centre. The city is seen through its interiors, inhabited by three women who may share a link.

15:45-16:30 How Many Lovers Can You Fit Inside a House (Maya Sfakianaki)

I set out to make a film about polyamory, convinced I could love all my partners equally. As one relationship intensified, the very principles I set out to explore started to clash with the reality I was living, shifting the film in a different direction.

17:00-17:45 Galdetzen duten begiradak (Ander Reviejo Churruca) 

FILM

Three children visit the ethnographic exhibition at the San Telmo Museum with their tutor. After the visit, the four of them have lunch while exchanging impressions about the exhibition.    

NOTE: Punctuality is requested. Presentations, screenings and other activities will begin at the time indicated in the program. Out of respect for the participants, once the presentation has begun, access to the space will not be allowed until the presentation is finished.
