Ekhiñe Etxeberria is a documentary maker born in 1991 in Iruña/Pamplona, although she currently lives in Barcelona. She has a degree from ESCAC (Catalonia Advanced School of Film and Audiovisual Studies), specialising in documentary directing. Her medium-length documentary film 'Mikele', which was premièred at DocumentaMadrid, has been screened at both national and international festivals, winning awards at DocumentaMadrid, Alcances, the Barcelona Human Rights Festival, and the Pamplona Film and Women Exhibition, among others. Previously, she graduated in Filmmaking from the School of Film and Video (ESCIVI), engaging in work experience at a production company in Cracow (Poland). While working as a filmmaker, she has also taught classes in documentary making at the ESCAC, as well as in various institutes in the Barcelona province. She is particularly interested in documentaries, is a member of DOCMA (Spanish Association of Documentary Film) and is currently in the process of producing her next work.
