Andrea de la Torre has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a diploma in Audiovisual Distribution and Exhibition from the Villa María de Córdoba National University in Argentina. As an undergraduate, she worked as a production assistant at the Al Este de Lima Film Festival, and this experience encouraged her to set up meetings between film professionals and students on the university campus, and to begin researching how the short films made in her faculty were distributed. Due to her interest in playing an active role in promoting culture and development, since 2022 she has been a volunteer alumna at the Sundance Film Festival and is a member of Comunica Investiga Lab, a communications lab based at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where she explores the distribution of début works by Peruvian filmmakers with the aim of determining what new spaces and opportunities exist for Peruvian films.
