Esmeralda Esther Reynoth Flores Hernández (2024-2025)

Esmeralda Reynoth was born in Honduras and currently lives in Buenos Aires. She studied Combined Arts at the University of Buenos Aires, where she completed her Professorship in Higher and Secondary Education in this subject. She worked as a researcher on education, film and art at the same university. She was also an audiovisual production content developer at the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) for academic series and cultural entertainment productions. She now works as a film critic, collaborating with independent cultural magazines and other media that reflect on film, and also covers festivals and film cycles in Brazil, Argentina and Europe. In 2019, she was a jury member at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. In 2020 she participated in the Berlinale Talents programme and was a jury member at the Ícaro Honduras Festival. She also started working as a curator at the Colombian Cine En Femenino Festival, and in 2022 became its curatorial and programming director for that year. She is a member of the research group on contemporary Latin American film led by Mariano Veliz (Philosophy and Arts, UBA), and coordinates Kaikaya, an archive and space for the study of Honduran film. She is a member of the permanent forum of Latin American Film Week in Buenos Aires and has completed the Preservation, Archiving and Audiovisual Practices Programme at the Universidad del Cine (FUC).
