Born in Miami in 1999, María Vaughan is a French-Columbian filmmaker and artist currently studying at the Escuela Nacional Superior de Beaux-Arts de Paris where she is finishing the last year of her degree. She is a member of the pluridisciplinary workshop of artist Mimosa Echard and the film workshop of director Clement Cogitore, and at the same time works as a monitor in the video department. These three focuses allow her to develop a cinematographic and visual art practice with a solid technical foundation, where film, photography and installation complement each other. During her career she has directed, produced and written various experimental short films, audiovisual essays and video art, including Journal d’été (2020), Fantasma (2021) and Love from Los Angeles (2023). She is currently making her first full-length film entitled Santuario.
