Pablo Salvador Boido (1981) is a researcher, teacher and filmmaker. He has a degree in Combined Arts from the University of Buenos Aires, where he is also currently working towards earning a PhD in Art History and Theory. His research focuses on the crossroads between film and contemporary art. He is currently finishing his PhD with a CONICET grant (2025-2027). He engaged in a doctoral study sojourn at the University of the Basque Country’s Faculty of Fine Art and has been the recipient of other grants also, including UBACyT (2019-2024), UBAint (2022) and AUIP Movilidad (2022).
He lectures on the Image and Sound Design undergraduate degree course at FADU (University of Buenos Aires). As a researcher, he has been involved in the following projects: Worlds beyond oneself: the intermediality of contemporary Argentinian art, literature and curating. Institute of Research and Experimentation in Art and Criticism, National University of the Arts. Also, Cinematographic Itineraries: displacements and exchanges between Germany and the United States during the classic period (1919-1960) at the Department of Arts, Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, University of Buenos Aires; and Plots and forms of History in contemporary audiovisual narratives, at the ‘Dr. Raúl H. Castagnino’ Institute of Performing Arts, Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, University of Buenos Aires.
He programmed the key section of the 10th International Migrant Film Festival and curated the 1st and 2nd [POST] Colonial Bodies exhibitions (MUNTREF / Matienzo), as well as different film seasons. He trained in the Film Programme directed by Andrés Di Tella, working with filmmakers such as Claudio Caldini, Ernesto Baca and Cristiano Burlan.
His short films and audio-visual installations and performances have been shown at national and international festivals, galleries and museums, including BAFICI, CC Recoleta, CNB Contemporáneo, Palais de Glace, Festival Samples, Festival Stripart, Cine de Artistas del DOC Buenos Aires, Play Video, Festival de Cine EPA, Province of Buenos Aires International Film Festival, Festival de Cine Underground, Centro Cultural Haroldo Conti, Centro Cultural Matienzo and Residencia La Paternal Espacio Proyecto, among others.
He is currently working on his first feature film in association with the production company Pensar con las Manos, made up of Luciana Piantanida, Andrea Testa and Francisco Márquez.
