The application period for the 2024-2025 Academic year begins

The enrolment period for the 2024-2025 academic year at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola will open on 1 February. As in previous years, the period will last for just one month, commencing on 1 February and ending on the 29 of that same month. Enrolment must be completed online through the school’s website, using a form that will become available on 1 February. The website contains all the information candidates need to know about the documents to be submitted, the dates on which admissions will be announced and the scholarships available to students.

Applications will be assessed by the Admissions Board and the school's Academic Management Team. The selection process will start at the same time as the enrolment period. This means that available places on the course may be filled prior to the end of said period (29 February). The intake for each specialist course is limited to 15 students, up to a total of 45. Successful applicants for all three postgraduate programmes (Film Curating, Filmmaking and Film Preservation) will be notified during the first week of June.

The EQZE syllabus is designed for students with or in the process of earning a university degree (undergraduate degree), or those who have graduated from film school. Under exceptional circumstances, the school will consider accepting candidates who, while not meeting the aforementioned criteria, can nevertheless provide proof of sufficient experience in the world of film.

To resolve any doubts linked to the admissions process, three open information sessions will be held in February for all those interested in applying for a place on any one of the three degrees on offer at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. The first will be held face-to-face at the EQZE in San Sebastián on 2 February. The second one will be held online on 12 February. Information about the sessions and instructions on how to register for them are available on the school’s website.

The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council and the Ibermedia Latin American Scholarship Fund will be awarding a series of specific scholarships to enable students to attend one of the postgraduate courses run by the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in 2024-2025.

2. Ibermedia scholarship: The Ibermedia Latin American Scholarship Fund will be awarding fourteen scholarships, each to the value of $3,571. Candidates can only apply for these scholarships once they have been admitted onto their chosen course.

Created and funded by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council and formally part of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), the EQZE offers an educational experience comprising three postgraduate courses that stem from the specialist knowledge areas of the three institutions involved in its running: the Basque Film Archive, the Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture and the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
