Sicilia Queer Filmfest is featuring a project developed at EQZE
"Corpi nella lotta" ("Bodies in Struggle") is a film season by Matteo Giampetruzzi, a Film Curating studies student from EQZE's 2023-2024 class, that explores the HIV epidemic through its cultural and political dimensions.
The selection includes a series of works produced outside of traditional film production and distribution. It highlights filmmakers such as Stuart Marshall, Catherine Gund Saalfield, Zoe Leonard, Barbara Hammer, Jerry Tartaglia, and Marlon Troy Riggs, who challenged heteronormativity and dominant narratives surrounding the body and sexuality. This cinema, which blends documentary, fiction, and essay, seeks to deconstruct the dark politics of the era and reclaim queer desire.
The 15th edition of the Sicilia Queer Filmfest will take place in Palermo from May 25 to 31.
