Students from EQZE organise a season of surprise films

Students on the 2024-2025 Film Curating Studies course at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola have organised a public film season called ‘ZINEMA GOXOA’, which will be held in the film school’s cinema theatre located on the ground floor of Tabakalera. The season, which is scheduled to begin on 25 May at 17:00, comprises six films whose titles will not be revealed until they are screened.

‘ZINEMA GOXOA’ aims to promote the idea of going to the cinema as a social event and collective experience. To this end, for every session, the group will transform the physical space inside the cinema theatre to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, extending the experience beyond the traditional cinematographic framework.

The programme also aims to look at other cinema histories playfully— perhaps less evident but equally necessary. Each screening will be accompanied by a fanzine published by students at the film school.

Here's how the "ZINEMA GOXOA" sessions will continue after the first one:

  • Second Session: June 15
  • Third Session: September 14
  • Fourth Session: October 19
  • Fifth Session: November 16
  • Sixth and Final Session: December 14

Entry will be free of charge, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
