AZTARNAK: Trás-os-Montes (António Reis y Margarida Cordeiro, 1976)

Somewhere between documentary and fiction, António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro travelled on foot through northeastern Portugal, filming the people of the Trás-os-Montes region. A group of children guide the film's journey through their local legends. An ethnographic journey interwoven with the poetry of a land's language, a land slowly coming apart yet still fighting to go on telling its own story and to defend its own folklore and tongue.

AZTARNAK is a program organized by the Film Curating Studies students of the 2025-2026 Academic Year at EQZE.
