She holds a BA in History from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. Her Master's degree was in Social History Studies, with an emphasis on Memory Studies and the History of Brazil. Through an ethnographic perspective, she focused on the apprehension of a regional historical phenomenon re-enacted by a folk group in the hinterland of Northeast Brazil. During her Master's degree, she started working with film archives at Cinemateca Brasileira, first with public service and later with the paper archive of the first Brazilian national cinematographic agency (Embrafilme). She also participated in the coordination of a project to digitise the television archive of a Brazilian public broadcaster (TV Cultura). She is currently completing a specialist course in preservation and restoration run by the Sociedad por El Patrimonio Audiovisual (DiPra), while working at Cinemateca Brasileira, with the research and cataloguing of unidentified nitrate films from the institution.
