The 2025-2026 Academic Year application period at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola begins. As in the previous admission call, this period will last one month, starting on February 1st and ending on the 28th. Registration can only be processed through the form provided on this website. The website also includes information about the required documentation, resolution deadlines, and other relevant details for interested individuals.
Applications received and accepted will be evaluated by the Admission Committee and the Academic Directorate of the school. The selection process will start at the same time as the enrolment period. This means that the quota of places could be filled before the end of the period. The availability of places is limited to a maximum of 15 students per specialty, up to 45 places. The communication of the selected candidates for one of the three master's programs (Archive, Curating, Creation) will take place during the first week of June.
Three master's programs
The Film Preservation Studies specialty aims to train specialists in identifying, classifying, restoring, and preserving cinematographic and audiovisual heritage while considering this field as a space for artistic creation. The Film Curating Studies specialty focuses on conceptualizing, developing, and disseminating programs, publications, interventions, and exhibitions related to cinema and audiovisual arts. Lastly, the Filmmaking Studies specialty addresses all aspects of a work's creative processes of ideation, experimentation, and materialization. The academic plan of EQZE is designed for students who hold a higher university degree (bachelor's or equivalent) or are in the process of obtaining it, as well as graduates from film schools. Exceptionally, the school will consider the case of candidates who, without meeting the previous requirements, have accredited cinematographic experience.

An information session will be held in February for all interested in enrolling in one of the master's programs at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola to address all questions related to the admission process. The online meeting is scheduled for February 6th at 4:00 PM (CET).
Additionally, you can arrange a personalized visit to the center using the contact form on the school's website.
Created and funded by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council and formally part of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), the EQZE offers an educational experience comprising three postgraduate courses that stem from the specialist knowledge areas of the three institutions involved in its running: the Basque Film Archive, the Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture and the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
