The Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI) will be hosting the world première of Luis David Esguerra’s first feature film Dos veces bestia. Developed at EQZE, this project by a student from the fifth intake year will return to the Colombian festival after winning last year's post-production prize.

Two other films that competed at the Berlinale, El diablo fuma (y guarda las cabezas de los cerillos quemados en la misma caja), by Ernesto Martínez Bucio (which won the Best First Feature Award), and Duas vezes João Liberada, by Paula Tomás Marques, will form part of the feature film section alongside Una sombra oscilante, by Celeste Rojas Mugica.

The shorts section will also feature projects developed at the school, including La durmiente, by Maria Inês Gonçalves, which was nominated for the European Short Film Award at Rotterdam, and REZBOTANIK by Pedro Gonçalves Ribeiro. The FICCI will also host the première of Cuando ellas se fueron solo quedó un pequeño ruido en la montaña, a short film by Laura Dávila Argoty, a student from the eighth intake year at the school.

Another work to travel to Colombia is "Costas: Archivos de la diáspora", curated by Laura Alhach, a Film Preservation student from the fifth intake year. This program, which was developed in the framework of the "C3. Non-Aligned Film Archives" research project at the EQZE, will include some of the films digitised at the school, including Antuca (María Barea, 1993) and Opus Habana (Me-moría del subdesarrollo(Ricardo Vega, 1965).

The 64th FICCI will be held from 1-6 April.
