ZINE04

ZINE: Film Research Series investigates Harun Farocki’s teaching methodology and its application in cinematographic practice, and is complemented by unpublished documents from the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB) archive, where  the German filmmaker  taught courses on film theory and history. The publication also explores two other teaching projects: the reconstruction of an educational experiment based on two propaganda films in London and a film workshop run in a mining community in Bolivia.

Contents of the issue:

01. How Farocki taught (Volker Pantenburg)
02. Two case studies
* Reconstructing Record of War (Brighid Lowe and Henry K. Miller)
* Demystifying production to return cinema to the people: the mining film workshop (Bolivia, 1983) (Isabel Seguí)

ZINE: Film Research Series is an academic publication edited by Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE), the San Sebastián Film Festival and the Basque Film Archive.
